Busy school cafeteria at lunchtime with many children seated at long tables. In the foreground, a girl with long dark hair wearing a pink top smiles at the camera on the left; beside her a boy in a blue-red-white patterned shirt labeled "FAWORLD CUP 26 USA" looks toward the camera with a slight smile. Both have red lunch trays with snacks (a visible bag of Doritos on the girl's tray). Other students and an adult are visible in the background; large windows line the left side and a red-decorated wall with musical notes and a partial "AMERICAN…" banner is on the back wall.
Two girls sit at a white table smiling at the camera with a dark gray curtain behind them. The girl on the left has long dark wavy hair, wears a white T‑shirt and light jeans, and has a small packaged item on the table in front of her. The girl on the right has long lighter hair in a side ponytail, wears a purple T‑shirt, and has a red plastic tray containing several packaged items on the table before her.
Two young boys sit side-by-side at a light-colored table, smiling at the camera against a dark curtain background. The boy on the left has light brown hair and wears a dark blue "MINECRAFT" T‑shirt; his red compartment tray holds noodles in sauce, a bread roll, a white plastic spoon, and a small round cookie or cracker on the table; a white-and-blue milk carton with a straw and a small plastic cup with a spoon sit beside the tray. The boy on the right has dark hair and wears a plain blue T‑shirt; his red tray contains several apple slices, and a white-and-blue milk carton with a straw and a clear plastic bag with two round cookies or crackers sit nearby.
April is the Month of the Military Family in Florida! The Month of the Military Family provides communities with an opportunity to honor and share gratitude for the service of military children. This year, we invite you to “Purple Up!” on April 15, 2026, by wearing purple as a visible way to show support and thank military children. Purple was chosen because it is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military. It is a combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine Corps red, Space Force blue and Navy blue. Students and staff in schools across Florida are encouraged to participate in this celebration of the courage of military families and to honor their hard work.

Huge congratulations to our incredible elementary students who showcased their science fair projects at the Lake County Schools Science and Engineering Fair today! Their curiosity, creativity, and hard work were on full display, and we are so proud of the innovation they brought to this year’s competition. A big thank‑you to the judges, teachers, and families who supported these young scientists along the way. 👉 Next up: Middle and high school projects on Friday. We can’t wait to see what our older students have in store!
